My Solo Trip

SOLO TRAVELLING! Yes, I did take myself on a solo trip and yes it was so fun! Look at my video below of my trip!

So last month I decided to go solo traveling and booked a flight to Lisbon, Portugal! I can’t even begin to explain how liberating it is to take yourself away on a solo trip. What I thought wasn’t too big of a deal, to others seemed to like it was? As I posted stories throughout my solo trip the number of people who have since messaged me, both lads and girls, to say that they would love to do it but they are afraid of going alone, fear of being embarrassed that they are alone, or are simply just scared to travel solo. Really, you meet such amazing solo travelers from every corner of the world, who are all just doing exactly what you are! 🥰

Travelling Solo can seem scary, but it does not have to be something you’re scared of doing, instead embrace it, look inward and become your own best friend on your travels. That’s what I did – and let me tell you it was badly needed. My Solo Trip highlighted how capable I am of literally handling any situation that ever comes my way; be it expected or unexpected – everything will be just fine ☀️✈️

🤙🏽 Let’s please MAKE IT COOL to do these things on your own and do it for yourself, because it’s honestly the most awakening experience. I really want to help break the stigma that you can’t do these things by yourself, for yourself? Let’s stop waiting for your partner or your friends and go do it on your own. Let me tell you that you can take yourself on a solo trip and it will teach you so many beautiful lessons along the way.

I took myself for dinner, drank plenty of coffee on my own, went for a sunrise swim on my own, forced myself to do some tourist spots 🤣 and met some of the coolest people ever! It was simple but wholesome.

Take yourself on a little solo trip, I promise you will not regret it. Have a look at a snippet of my solo travels, and let me know when you decide to book your solo trip 😀

Full Body Yes ~ I took the leap

Today is my first full day of becoming fully self-employed and it’s honestly terrifying, but who grows inside their comfort zone? That is what I keep asking myself anyway! After leaving what one would call a good salary and ‘safe’ job with every kind of corporate company benefit that you can possibly think of, I can honestly say I am petrified but also extremely excited!

Have you ever experienced a Full Body Yes? That is exactly what I experienced these past few months when deciding to go full time with what it is I love doing ~ creating and designing! As the famous saying goes, sometimes you literally just have to ‘feel the fear and do it anyway’, step outside of your comfort zone and learn from whatever it is that comes your way!

How I knew I was ready to take the leap from my 8 am -5 pm Corporate job, was purely down to a life of happiness and authentic meaning which was fueled by compassion. Below are just some of my thoughts which I have thought about over and over these past few months, and which have ultimately aided in my Full Body Yes Experience in pursuing my love for creating!

I wanted a work lifestyle that allowed me to:

● Discover what is important to me, so that I can spend more time doing just that (for me this is creating)
● Recognise and empower the deeper part of myself
● Measure my success by my own happiness (this one for me was a hugely influential factor – I significantly value my time, freedom, energy, and lifestyle which in turn adds to my creative workflow when working on my business)
● Allow myself to continuously learn, upskill, develop and evolve when working

~ Something I always remind myself of is if I ever feel that fear is stopping me in my tracks, is that all I need is 20 seconds of courage. If it is then a Full Body Yes, then for the next 20 seconds do what needs to be done to get the energy flowing!

Let me know if you have ever experienced a Full Body Yes, and if so what was it in relation to?

Hope you enjoyed and Happy Monday ~ have a fab week!

How I Made Monday My Favourite Day Of the Week

I’m most definitely sure that I am not the only person who at one stage of their lives would just absolutely dread every Monday morning. Even though I was well aware that Monday was just another day of the week, yet I had no clue why I used to dread this particular day of the week so much? It made no sense to me, I often asked myself was I just pretending to dread Monday because everyone else around me used to hate Mondays? It’s weird, but I saw this as an opportunity for me to change my mindset, attitude and thought process of a particular day, and I can now honestly say, I look forward to every Monday morning, and you can too!

Often we find ourselves attaching feelings and views to certain things and we don’t even realise how strong we get attached to this specific ‘thing’. In my case, I found myself hating Mondays for a reason I’m still unsure of. Try and be as open minded to switching your views on certain attachments you have to certain things. How I feel about today and every other day is my choice and my choice only, it is my responsibility to show up for myself and determine the attitude I would like to bring to the day at hand!

This seems weird, I know! But actually since implementing various strategies and consistency within my habits over the past two years, Monday is since my favourite day of the week and I literally love it! I began to implement small habits into my Monday morning routine after realising I just for some bizarre reason decided to hate a specific day of the week? My answer to this hatred of Mondays was all down to my attitude, attitude, attitude.

Excellence is not an act but a habit, and so I just started to do 2-3 little things for myself every Monday to ensure I was really looking forward to what that day had in store for me. I know I love to train, I love coffee, I love listening to my regular podcasts, so I took these things and made them essential habits that are now engraved into my Monday routine – I realised it’s the attitude that you apply to anything in life, be it a specific goal of yours, be it a relationship, be it a new business venture or in my specific case.. MONDAY.

Monday is literally just another day in the week, implement small habits that you can consistently implement over a prolonged period of time and introduce things you actually enjoy doing. Personally I love training and drinking coffee, so these are my small daily Monday habits, but you may like something completely different and that is perfectly fine, just find something you genuinely enjoy and promise yourself you will treat and prioritise yourself to this every single Monday!

If you are to take one thing from this, as I mentioned above, just try and be as open minded to switching your views on certain attachments you have to certain things in your life. How I feel about today and every other day is my choice and my choice only, it is my responsibility to show up for myself and determine the attitude I would like to bring to that particular day.

I’m hoping this can help just one person change their perception on something they may dread, and just a gentle reminder that sometimes our egos may find it hard to change our opinions or switch our viewpoints on certain attachments we may have to a specific thing, but overcoming your ego self in these situations is important- this just means you’re probably growing as a person, which in my opinion is pretty cool!

Hope you enjoyed!
